Fernandinho has been included in the list of Premier League players to be released this summer, and Manchester City are yet to provide an update on the Brazilian’s future.
The 36-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the month and the Premier League champions have not yet made an official announcement about the tough midfielder’s departure.
The top flight has published a list of released players, via air sports, with Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia also listed alongside Fernandinho. The pair have since moved to Barcelona on a free transfer.

However, players can still sign contract extensions before the end of the month, meaning Friday’s list is not final.
Fernandinho has enjoyed an excellent eight-year stay at the Etihad Stadium after switching from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013 and playing a key role in winning this season’s title.
The Brazilian’s absence from the starting line-up against Chelsea in the Champions League is seen as one of the main factors for City’s heartbreak in Portugal.

City boss Pep Guardiola praised the veteran in March following City’s win over Everton.
“(It was) Another exceptional performance,” said the boss. “It’s composed. He knows what to do, on and off the field.
Fernandinho made 350 appearances for City in his eight-year stay, scoring 24 goals and providing 30 assists.
