Manchester City chairman vows to sign top striker to replace Aguero amid interest from Kane and Haaland
Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has promised to bring in a top striker this summer to replace Sergio Aguero.
Harry Kane of Tottenham and Erling Haaland, of Borussia Dortmund, are on City’s list of goals after club record scorer Aguero joined Barcelona as a free agent.
They are also aiming for a £100m deal for Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish, as first revealed by Sports post in March.

In his end-of-season speech, Khaldoon warned that City will not sit on their laurels after regaining the Premier League title, and insisted that money be made available for Pep Guardiola to bolster the squad.
“We are losing a very important legend in Sergio Aguero,” Khaldoon said. “Very difficult shoes to fill, but I am confident that we will find the right player to fill those shoes.
“Obviously there are other areas within the group that need investment. Not too much, it’s not about numbers, it’s about quality.
“I think it’s a phenomenal team. You won’t win the Premier League or reach the Champions League final if you don’t have a great squad. We will bring quality to the squad in a number of key positions.
“One of the things I’ve learned over the years is that you have to constantly bring talent into the team. refresh. Especially if you are at a high level, if you are at the top.
“After winning the league, it’s not the time to sit back and be happy. That would actually be your biggest mistake.
“Now is the time to send out a strong signal that there is no satisfaction, that you are not satisfied with winning the competition.”

The City chief believes his club will bounce back from their Champions League final defeat to Chelsea in Porto to once again compete for Europe’s top prize.
Khaldoon also claimed that Abu Dhabi ruler Sheikh Mansour is more than pleased with City’s progress and confident that his vision will become a reality.
“I am very, very proud of what this team has achieved,” he added. “When you reach the Champions League final, the pinnacle of football, the pinnacle of sport, I think that’s an incredible achievement.
“A remarkable season, anyway, but it’s also the culmination of years of hard work to achieve a level of consistency, a level of expectation that this club has now reached, a club that will compete year after year. You can’t win every year, but year after year we will be there.
Money will be made available for Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola to strengthen his team
“It’s about moving forward and when we have setbacks, regroup and then come back stronger. I think the record of the last 10 years gives me, and everyone else, the confidence and knowledge to know that we will be back.
“As sad as we are to lose the final, we will come back in that final and, most importantly, these titles we will always be there, I promise.
‘I know Sheikh Mansour is very proud. His vision going back to 2008 of what he expected, what he wanted in the next 10-12 years, has been achieved.
“As we look at the next ten years, his vision of what he hopes to achieve with this club, I think we are well positioned to achieve that.
“I look to the past with pride, I look to the future with excitement and I think the foundations are there today. The blocks are built, the foundation is strong and the confidence is there. This journey continues and I’m looking forward to it.’
Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said the club was happy with the progress under Guardiola .
Speaking of Guardiola’s position at the Etihad, Khaldoon added: “This partnership has been a great partnership. He is in the right environment, he has the right infrastructure around him.
“We have the greatest trust and the best relationship, and we have achieved so much.
“So I think the journey continues and will continue as long as Pep is happy and we are happy.
“I say to the fans of Man City that you just have to be positive, have faith and enjoy these moments.”
