A man has been arrested and charged after he allegedly broke his four-month-old daughter’s arm during a trip to a dog beach in Western Australia.

Detectives with the WA Child Abuse Squad have charged a 24-year-old man after an investigation was launched when the boy was allegedly injured on January 8.

Police allege the man was with his baby and his partner at the Yanchep Dog Beach on Brazier Road in Yanchep around 10:30 a.m. when the incident occurred.

Police will allege that the man was responsible for his daughter suffering a broken upper arm.

WA detectives have charged a man in connection with the alleged assault of a four-year-old girl.

In an earlier request for community assistance, police alleged that the baby had suffered fractures and bruises while on the beach between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.

She was taken to Perth Children’s Hospital where she received medical treatment for her arm and other injuries that were identified.

The Merriwa man has been charged with aggravated assault causing bodily harm.

He is due to appear in the Joondalup Magistrate Court on 5 April.

Western Australia Police thanked the public on Friday for their help in the investigation.
