Manchester United ‘frustrated’ with Chelsea after ‘Blues leak to media about failed offers from Mason Mount’… as Red Devils believe Blues ‘overvalue’ England star
Manchester United are reportedly frustrated with Chelsea over their negotiations for Mason Mount, with the Blues leaking information about the failed bids to the media.
The Red Devils saw a third offer of £55m rejected by the Blues on Friday after they said it would be their last offer for Mount.
However, Erik ten Hag’s side are expected to continue negotiations as Chelsea have offered a face-to-face meeting to discuss the deal.
As reported by Manchester Evening NewsUnited are “unhappy” with Chelsea as director of football John Murtough is said to be frustrated as the Blues communicate United’s offers through dedicated correspondents in London.
Leaking this information to the media has undermined the Red Devils, who further believe Chelsea are ‘overvaluing’ Mount.
Mason Mount is one of Manchester United’s top targets in midfield this summer

Man United have seen a £55m bid rejected for the Chelsea star and will resume negotiations

Mount is said to be Erik ten Hag’s preferred choice, but there are other options
The report goes on to say that as he is out of contract next year and wants to leave, United disagree with Chelsea’s assessment.
Moreover, Mount is Ten Hag’s preferred option, but United have at least four other midfield options to turn to who are considered ‘acceptable’ if they cannot land Mount.
They are believed to have finalized a ‘long list of targets by position in April’ and the manager has already held virtual meetings with potential targets.
While Chelsea immediately hit back with a £58m plus £7m deal, it remains to be seen if the Manchester club are prepared to meet that valuation.
Negotiations are set to continue as the Blues await £65million for the Cobham graduate.
