Malcolm Ebiowei has agreed to sign for Crystal Palace, giving Manchester United another transfer setback, according to reports.
The Derby County star, 18, broke through to Wayne Rooney’s Championship side last season, playing 15 games in all competitions and scoring once, impressing despite their relegation, largely driven by the Rams’ 21-point deduction.
And football journalist Fabrizio Romano has stated that promising winger Ebiowei has undergone a medical check-up at Palace and will sign a five-year contract that will keep him in South London until 2027.

Romano tweeted: ‘English talent Malcolm Ebiowei is not going to Manchester United. He plans to sign his contract with Crystal Palace after medicals are completed this week, it’s a foregone conclusion. #CPFC.
Ebiowei is leaving Derby County to join Palace – the contract runs until June 2027.
‘Just to be clear: the medical examination of Ebiowei was already completed earlier this week, completely ready. A five-year contract to be signed very soon – Statement from Crystal Palace will follow immediately.”

Former Arsenal candidate Ebiowei, who has represented both the Netherlands and England at youth level, moved for free from Rangers academy to Pride Park in September.
The news comes as a blow to new manager Erik ten Hag and United, who have reportedly been in talks with Ebiowei representatives and have been following him for months.
The Red Devils also missed Ajax defender Jurrien Timber after former manager Louis van Gaal warned him of a move and Liverpool saw Darwin Nunez sign from Benfica despite their interest in him.
