Manchester United star Mason Greenwood has revealed the toughest opponent he’s faced in his career so far – and it’s nowhere near what you expected.
The 19-year-old attacker has competed against Paris Saint-Germain, RB Leipzig, AC Milan and Sevilla in his fledgling career – not to mention the Premier League heavyweights.
That has seen Greenwood deploy his skills and pace against some of the best defenders in world football.

United’s teenage striker has named Bryan as his toughest opponent in a fan Q&A session
But when asked in a Q&A session with fans which opponent caused him the most frustration, Greenwood certainly raised eyebrows.
“I should probably say it might be surprising, but you know? [Joe] Bryan, the one for Fulham,” he said in response to Philip L’s question in Norway on the… official club website.
“He gave me no space, no time on the ball, when we played them at home and away. It was one of my hardest matches for us.
“He’s someone you probably wouldn’t think I’d say his name, but he bonded with me and didn’t give me much space.
“He was a good defender and he was probably my biggest challenge.”

Bryan celebrates scoring Fulham’s equalizing goal in their draw at Old Trafford in May
Greenwood came into direct competition with Fulham left-back Bryan, 27, when United took a 2-1 win over Craven Cottage on January 20 this year.
United actually fell behind against a Fulham side who were relegated when Ademola Lookman scored after five minutes.
But they rallied and equalized via Edinson Cavani before Paul Pogba curled home the winner with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side leading the Premier League at the time.
And Greenwood again feuded with Bryan when Fulham drew 1-1 at Old Trafford on May 18 in the reverse game.
Greenwood denied by Fulham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola in Old Trafford draw
Cavani gave United the lead with a stunning 40-yard lob from Alphonse Areola, but it was Bryan who equalized 14 minutes from time to give Fulham a point.
They will not face each other next season as Fulham are relegated back to the championship.
Greenwood has made an impressive start to his career at Old Trafford, scoring 29 goals in 105 appearances since making his league debut against PSG in March 2019 at the age of just 17 years and 156 days.
