  • Manchester United continue talks with the reigning Ligue 1 champions
  • The Red Devils are also looking for alternatives to midfielder Manuel Ugarte

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho remains an option for Paris St Germain as his Premier League future remains under scrutiny ahead of the new season.

Negotiations between PSG and United have been ongoing throughout the summer and the English club are also attempting to negotiate a deal for midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

Sancho shone against PSG in last season’s Champions League semi-final at a time when his United career seemed over after joining Borussia Dortmund on a temporary loan deal.

Dortmund had hoped to negotiate Sancho’s return to the club on a permanent basis but the prices have ruled out a transfer for the England international, a scenario unlikely to affect PSG.

The reigning Ligue 1 champions have already held talks over a move for Sancho, who has two years left on his contract at Old Trafford with the option for a further year.

The 24-year-old was banned from United’s first team last year when he attacked manager Erik ten Hag after being criticised for his performances in training following a defeat to Arsenal.

Sancho at the time insisted he was being made a “scapegoat” and subsequently refused to apologise to Ten Hag, who decided there would be no turning back on their relationship unless an apology was issued.

The pair have since reconciled and Sancho has been an influential figure on United’s pre-season tour of the United States, with Ten Hag recently claiming he could be used as a striker this season.

United are keen to bring in more reinforcements ahead of their opening Premier League game of the season against Fulham on August 16 but need to raise funds by selling other players.

Scott McTominay has also been talked about as another possible exit, with United having rejected a £20m bid from Fulham as they attempt to hold out for a higher fee for the Scotland international.

United are closely monitoring Ugarte’s situation in Paris, but They are exploring other options as PSG hold out for more than £50m and have since made initial contacts over a deal for Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana, who is also a target for AC Milan.

Burnley’s Sander Berge and Palmeiras’ Richard Rios are also among the players United are keen to see.
