Manchester United opened talks with Real Sociedad yesterday over the sale of Donny van de Beek and are awaiting an improved offer from Galatasaray for Fred before making their next transfer move for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
Leeds United are also showing interest in full-back Brandon Williams, who has found limited opportunities in Manchester.
Erik ten Hag won’t have much left of his summer transfer budget once the £72m deal for Rasmus Hojlund is completed, so he’ll need to raise funds through player sales before moving to Amrabat , valued at £30 million.
However, the Moroccan international has expressed doubts about the move, telling the ANSA news agency on Tuesday: “I don’t know, I could stay,” when asked about his future.
Van de Beek has been deemed to be exceeding the requirements at Old Trafford and the Red Devils are willing to let him go for around £25m.

Manchester United want around £25m for Donny van de Beek and are in talks with Real Sociedad about a possible sale.
The Dutchman was plagued by injuries last season and only managed to make 7 Premier League appearances during the 2022/23 campaign.
Sociedad are concerned by the player’s injury history but have nevertheless opted to enter into talks with United about a possible transfer.
Galatasary is also interested in acquiring the services of midfielder Fred.
The Turkish club had an undisclosed offer turned down by United last month.
They are expected to return with an improved offer in the coming days, while Leeds consider making a move for Williams.
