Manchester United ‘listens to offers for SIX players this summer’, with Alexis Sanchez, Chris Smalling and Jesse Lingard among those who could be sold to fund deals for Jadon Sancho and two more stars

  • The Red Devils are willing to say goodbye to a large number of players to transfer money
  • Up to six players could be sold, including Alexis Sanchez and Jesse Lingard
  • Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is planning an overhaul and wants to sign Jadon Sancho
  • He also wants to use the money to draw both a central defender and a new striker

Manchester United are willing to cash in on up to six players this summer with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looking for funds to contract a top star like Jadon Sancho, the claim reports.

The Red Devils have had a mini-revival in the league this calendar year, but a terrible start to the season has cost them as they compete for a spot in the Champions League. The Norwegian boss wants to make sure he keeps the pace of challenging next season to challenge the title, but is thought to be making a review.

And the Telegraph report that he is willing to oversee a player’s exodus to strengthen his transfer cat and strengthen the areas to take the club to the next level.

Alexis Sanchez, Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard, Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo and Diogo Dalot could all leave Old Trafford this summer if United were to receive an appropriate offer, it adds, with Dortmund star Sancho as the main target after generating those funds.

But Solskjaer is also excited about recruiting another top mid-back, the report claims, with Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly strongly tied to a move to the club in recent weeks – and if possible he’d want another striker Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood.

The club spent £ 75m last summer when Harry Maguire, Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka were brought in, but the coronavirus pandemic will make the money considerably harder this year – so United needs to unload as much deadwood as possible.

The club wants to raise money for the Jadon Sancho in Dortmund, which can cost up to £ 100 million

Sancho has long been touted for a large money transfer to Manchester’s red side and is said to fill the current void on the right wing – but he’s only allowed to leave the Bundesliga side for a fee of around £ 100 million.

Sanchez is returning from a loan spell at Inter, but can be difficult due to his high salary, while Smalling and Rojo should find new clubs after enjoying spells away from United at Roma and Estudiantes, respectively.

Phil Jones is currently out of favor and should have a large number of admirers including in Serie A after seeing teammate Smalling enjoy a successful season.

And the Portuguese defender Dalot came from Porto for around £ 20 million in 2018, but has not come out as the club’s first choice.

Lingard played in the Premier League for two minutes since February – his future looks bleak

Meanwhile, Lingard has only started nine Premier League games this season and is reportedly of interest to West Ham – who are said to be watching Jones.

Lingard’s future at Old Trafford is increasingly questionable with new signing Bruno Fernandes blooming in midfield since his £ 68m move from Sporting Lisbon.

He only played 63 minutes since the restart – and that came in the FA Cup against Norwich.

The last time he played in a Premier League game was against Wolves in early February – and was only broadcast for two minutes.
