Man United flop struggles to hold back emotions after scoring his first goal in over TWO years following Old Trafford nightmare

A Manchester United flop has scored his first goal in more than two years after leaving the club this summer.

The player scored the goal in the Champions League on Wednesday night, when his team faced Feyenoord in Holland.

He went through a very frustrating time at Old Trafford before leaving United this summer and, although he outlasted several managers at the club, he struggled to leave a positive impression.

During his time at United, the player was unable to make much of an impact, but it seems his move away has started to bring out the best in him.

However, he is now trying to resume his career in northern Spain with last season’s surprise package in LaLiga, Girona.

Donny van de Beek scored with a composed shot from close range as Girona lost 3-2 at home to Feyenoord in the Champions League.

David López put Girona ahead before a Yangel Herrera own goal earned Feyenoord an equaliser.

The Dutch team then took the lead thanks to Antoni Milambo before Van de Beek equalized, although the tie did not last long.

Feyenoord then took a 3-2 lead thanks to another own goal, this time from Ladislav Krejci, and the Dutch team took all three points.

Van de Beek joined United from Ajax in 2020 but found regular playing time difficult to come by.

He made just six Premier League starts during his time at United and also endured injury frustration, never living up to the expectations he generated with his performances for Ajax.

Van de Beek scored from close range and found the net for the first time since May 2022.

After a loan spell at Eintracht Frankfurt in the second half of last season, Van de Beek left United permanently this summer.

Van de Beek’s last goal came in May 2022, when he was on loan at Everton, scoring in a 5-1 loss to Arsenal.
