A disturbing video has surfaced showing a black man making a series of racist remarks to an Asian NYPD officer during the unrest in Manhattan’s Washington Square Park last weekend.

The unnamed man is featured in the expletive-laden video, which was uploaded to reddit confronted on Sunday by a group of cops who appear to be asking him to move from the road to the sidewalk.

The man, dressed in a white T-shirt and ball cap, appears to pick the Asian-American cop and unleashes a vicious tirade at him: “You’re not even from this country. You piece of shit. You f***ing ch**k!’

He repeats the insulting ethnic slur, referring to a person of Chinese descent, over and over without any response from the targeted officer.

Another cop tries to de-escalate the situation and leads his colleagues away as the enraged man continues to scream racistly.

Moments later, a man passing by on a bicycle hears the slander and calls out the perpetrator.

“Why do you call people ch**k, man? Damn you!’ the cyclist yells at the man in the white t-shirt.

The man immediately turns on the motorcyclist and repeatedly yells at him to ‘blow my dick’.

When a bystander accuses the enraged man of racism, he shoots back: ‘Blacks can’t be racist, you piece of shit.’

The man continues to pepper the Asian-American officer with racist remarks as he and his colleagues walk toward the iconic Washington Square Park Arch.

The man brags that he works “for the state” and shouts that he pays the officers’ salaries.

As the NYPD officers disappear into the distance, the man turns to the camera recording his tirade, stressing that his insulting words “do not go out to all Asian people,” but only to the police.

“The police are not our friends,” he argues.

He then repeats the claim that “black people cannot be racist.”

He adds: ‘We can be biased to condemn something, but we can’t be racist; these motherfuckers [the police] are racist.

“Whether you’re Asian, Hispanic…or other than European, and you’ve joined the police force, you should know the oppression being imposed on our people. That’s why I called him a ch**k.”

The NYPD addressed the recording of the foul-mouthed encounter, calling it “disturbing” in a statement to the New York Post.

“Every day, NYPD officers are expected to maintain a level of professionalism under a range of difficult circumstances,” a police spokesman said. In this case, an Asian police officer was subjected to an ugly attack of racist remarks and kept his composure. However, it is disturbing to see this kind of language being used against every Asian person in light of the disturbing increase in Asian hate crimes across the city.”

New York City has seen a spate of anti-Asian attacks since the start of the coronavirus pandemic amid a broader spike in crime rates.
