A Florida man who was tied up on a beach in anticipation of a romp in the sand ended up in the hospital after a bloody attack.
The victim, described as a “frantic, shirtless man yelling,” was allegedly attacked and beaten with an ax on an Ormond-by-the-Sea beach on Wednesday, according to the arrest affidavit.
Alana Cagle, 18, lured the victim to the area around 8:30 p.m. so she “could tie him up on the beach and have sex with him,” but the situation took a cruel turn.
After the victim’s legs were tied, 24-year-old Wayne Streeter appeared dressed all in black. Sensing danger, the unnamed man untied his legs and attempted to flee.
Cagle reportedly began jumping on his legs to keep him down, but he was able to fight her off and escape.
Alana Cagle and Wayne Streeter were arrested for allegedly attacking a man on a beach in Ormond-by-the-Sea on Wednesday night.
Cagle tied the victim’s legs on the beach before Streeter appeared and allegedly chased him down and strangled him.
Streeter then chased the man and tackled him to the ground. As Streeter strangled the victim, Cagle, allegedly carrying an ax, joined in to beat him.
The victim ran away and left a trail of blood before finding a police officer. According to the report, he was taken to the hospital with deep lacerations to his legs, back and abdomen.
The victim said Cagle picked him up just to go to Michael Crotty Bicentennial Park, according to ClickOrlando.com.
He recalled “feeling strange vibrations” once they reached the beach because Cagle was sitting about five feet away from him before tying his legs.
Police searched the area after the victim was hospitalized and found Cagle and Streeter inside Cagle’s car.
It was reported that there was blood in the vehicle and the victim’s backpack was inside.
Cagle reportedly parked his car at Michael Crotty Bicentennial Park before walking to the beach with the victim.
A rope, a T-shirt, a hat and an ax sheath were found on the beach. Blood stains on a nearby walkway were “consistent with a man running while bleeding.”
More blood was found in the park where Cagle’s car was parked.
Streeter told police a different story about how the night unfolded.
He said he and Cagle were a couple and they drove to the beach together. Apparently, he did not know how the victim arrived.
Streeter alleged that he saw the victim push Cagle, which caused him to approach and begin punching.
Police said the victim left a trail of blood on a beachside path as he fled from the attackers.
He denied using any weapons in the attack and said he tried to strangle the victim “for her,” likely referring to Cagle, the report said.
The alleged attackers have been held on $5,000 bail and face charges of aggravated assault.
Their court dates are scheduled for November 26.
