A man repeatedly stabbed his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend during a confrontation in Midtown, police said Wednesday.
The 21-year-old victim was on W. 41st St. near 10th Ave. at around 9:50 p.m. on March 9 when he got into an argument with his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend, whom she knew only as “Ronnie.” he told the police.
As the two began to fight, Ronnie drew a knife and stabbed his rival repeatedly in the upper chest before fleeing to a shelter down the block from the stabbing.
Both Ronnie, believed to be in his 20s, and his girlfriend went missing when EMS arrived and the former was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was treated and is expected to survive, police said.
The injured ex-boyfriend identified Ronnie as the stabber and found a photo of him, which was shared with police.
Police released Ronnie’s photo on Wednesday in the hope that someone knows where he is hiding.
Ronnie faces assault charges, police said.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
