Man shot and killed at San Francisco BART station; suspects sought

SAN FRANCISCO — Two suspects were wanted in Sunday afternoon’s fatal shooting of a man at the 24th Street/Mission BART Station, authorities said.
The victim was a 27-year-old man from San Francisco whose name has not yet been released, authorities said
The shooting was reported around 4:07 p.m. on Sunday in the square above the station. The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:08 p.m
Two suspects fled. BART police worked with the San Francisco Police Department to identify and arrest them, BART spokesman Chris Filippi said.
A motive for the shooting has not yet been determined and the police cannot yet say whether the victim knew the suspects.
Filippi said video surveillance from the square was being reviewed by investigators. He said surveillance video has played an important role in helping BART police identify violent individuals in many recent cases, and officials hope it will help investigators find these suspects.
The murder is the fourth homicide to be investigated by BART police this year, Filippi said. There were no homicides on BART properties last year.
