The NYPD said the two men got into a “verbal dispute,” which quickly escalated.

When asked for more information about the suspect, she could only tell police a nickname, a police source told the New York Daily News (NYDN).

The man was last seen wearing a baseball cap and white t-shirt in a grainy elevator surveillance shot. He appears to have a beard and multiple tattoos on his right arm.

The NYPD will be offered a $3,500 reward to anyone who can help identify him.

The heist comes when NYC experiences a heightened sense of crime. Robberies alone are up 40 percent, while total crime is up 38 percent.
