A man has been charged after more than 10 cars and several buildings were defaced with anti-Israel slurs in one of Sydney’s wealthiest suburbs.

Celebrity chef Matt Moran’s Chiswick restaurant was one of several premises that were vandalized in Woollahra during the attack at 12.35am on Thursday.

Several cars were covered in white spray paint that said “F**k Israel” while one of them was set on fire.

New South Wales Police have launched a search for two people following the vandalism.

A spokesman announced on Monday that a 20-year-old man had been arrested in Mascot, a 20-minute drive away.

He was taken to a police station and charged with 21 offenses including 14 counts of destruction or damage to property.

Among the other charges are three counts of entering a building with intent to commit an indictable offence, two counts of destroying property in a business-use fire, having your face blackened/disguised to commit an indictable offence, and behaving in a manner offensive in a public place.

He was refused bail and will appear at Downing Center Local Court on Monday.
