Man has his favourite pair of Nike trainers TATTOOED onto his feet

A man has his favorite pair of shoes tattooed on his feet because he is ‘tired of paying’ for new ones.

Manchester-based tattoo artist Dean Gunther, 34, originally from Bellville, South Africa, revealed how his client wanted the design of his beloved Nike trainers inked on him.

The artist recently went viral after saving a person a fortune on a gym membership by getting him a permanent six-pack tattoo, and it looks like he’s not going to stop there — with his latest design arguably even more bizarre.

Dean shares his creation on TikTok and Instagram, where a video showing the art has been viewed and counted more than two million times, revealing how he tattooed a pair of shoes on a customer’s feet.

“I wanted to create the illusion that the person is wearing shoes, even though they have bare feet,” Dean told NeedToKnow.online. “You sure look twice.”

Dean found the sneaker his customer liked best, viewed the image in 360 degrees, then pulled it freehand onto his foot.

The piece took Dean about two hours to draw and another eight hours to tattoo on both feet.

One social media user commented on the idea of a permanent shoe, saying, “They’ll last you forever.” “Save a fortune on trainers,” added another.

“Wow, brave man, both feet,” wrote another user, clearly baffled by the fact that the client could endure the pain of tattooing this body part.

Dean said, “Drawing the tattoo on my free hand was the most challenging part. I had to make sure everything flowed with the contours of the body.

“A stencil wouldn’t work in this case, so it’s all freehand. Once that was on, tattooing was easy.

Tired of paying for shoes so he decided to get his favorite pair of Nikes tattooed on him and he sees the funny side of it! Definitely a great conversation starter. His wife loves it too.’

Dean, who recently won Best In Show at the Liverpool Tattoo convention with a beautiful African-inspired tattoo that took three days to complete, has also hinted at his next tattoo.

He says it will be one of the most emotional pieces he’s tried, hoping to raise awareness about cancer.
