A man was shot in the head outside his home in Sydney’s west and is now fighting for his life.

Emergency services were called to the home on Stella Street, in Fairfield Heights, shortly after 8.30am on Tuesday.

A man was found unconscious on the sidewalk and is being treated by paramedics.

Emergency services were called to a home on Stella Street in Fairfield Heights, western Sydney (pictured), following reports of a shooting.

A crime scene has been established and investigations continue.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
