A 73-year-old man has died after drowning at a popular beach.
Emergency services were called to Cabbage Tree Bay beach at Norah Head on the New South Wales Central Coast about 6.20pm on Tuesday.
The man was pulled unconscious from the water and members of the public performed CPR on him until paramedics arrived.
He was rushed to Wyong Hospital, where he died a short time later.
New South Wales Police have launched an investigation into the incident and will prepare a report for the coroner.
The 73-year-old’s death marks the 55th since the start of the 2024-2025 summer, starting December 1, according to the Royal Life Saving Summer Drowning Toll.
