A man is dead and another is trapped after an alleged early morning attack in a Queensland holiday town.
Police say emergency crews were called to Hastings Street on the tourist strip near Noosa Heads after a man was attacked around 6am on Sunday.
He died on the spot a short time later.

A man has since been arrested and is assisting detectives in their investigation.
A crime scene has been reported and witnesses or anyone with information is urged to contact investigators.
Police are expected to hold a press conference about the incident on Sunday afternoon.
