Delap, the son of former Stoke City player Rory, is under contract with City until 2023.
The forward is highly regarded in the Premier League, with Pep Guardiola including him in first-team training for much of the season.
The City boss praised the forward’s finish after his debut goal in September.
“He’s a different attacker than we have in terms of physicality,” Guardiola said.

“We are very happy with his performance – he played very well.”
Delap’s goal-scoring form earned him comparisons to Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland, who is sought after by both City and Real.
City announced that Sergio Aguero will be leaving the club at the end of the campaign, which could give Delap more opportunities next season.
A move for Haaland, however, could complicate Delap’s route to the first team.
Youngsters like Brahim Diaz and Jadon Sancho have left City in the past while Diaz joined Real while Sancho moved to Dortmund.
