Manchester City are set to reward number 1 goalkeeper Ederson with a new three-year deal, according to reports.
The 27-year-old has been a revelation for City since he took over from Benfica in 2017, becoming a key part for Pep Guardiola and his desire for his team to play from behind.
After an impressive first season at the Etihad Stadium, Ederson was already given a new seven-year contract until 2025 in May 2018, but now City are looking to extend his stay even further – according to the athletic one.

It is rumored that new talks are planned between the Premier League champions and the Brazilian, and he is expected to agree on terms to keep him at the club until 2028.
In addition, while City are looking for mega-money moves for England stars Harry Kane and Jack Grealish of Tottenham and Aston Villa respectively, the Manchester outfit is also looking to tie several first-team stars to new deals.
England duo Phil Foden and John Stones, who along with Kane and Grealish led the Three Lions to the Euro 2020 final earlier this summer, are reportedly in talks to extend their stay.
Stones’ current contract expires next summer, while Foden’s contract runs until 2024, with City keen to secure their long-term future after the pair played an integral role in securing their third Premier League title in four seasons last season.
Ruben Dias, after an excellent debut season alongside Stones, is also in line to be rewarded with a pay rise already.

Pep Guardiola’s side will also offer Raheem Sterling, England’s star player at the European Championship, a new contract with just two years left on his current contract.
Riyad Mahrez and Gabriel Jesus – who have been named along with Sterling as potential sweeteners in a deal with Tottenham for Kane – also have the last two years of their agreements.
There are reports that Mahrez will be given a new contract, but the future of Jesus is currently in the air.
City is rushing into action to tie the first-team stars to new deals to prevent a repeat of last summer’s Leroy Sane saga.
Sane entered the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium last summer, and as the German winger wanted to leave for Bayern Munich, the club had to accept a reduced fee of £55million.
