“The last, the decisive, I’ll ask for it …”
Ederson previously joked that he is the best penalty taker at the club, but boss Pep Guardiola will not allow him to take them.
‘I don’t train many free kicks. I trained penalties and when I played for Riberao I took some free kicks, but that’s now a thing of the past, ‘said Ederson. ‘I am the best penalty taker, but I was not chosen to take them!
The Manchester City goalkeeper has also shown his ability to save penalties
Backup keeper Scott Carson revealed that Ederson was one of the players who practiced their penalties leading up to the clash.
Carson told the Manchester Evening News: ‘He hit a few at me and Zack [Steffen] and it’s one where you really want him to score, you don’t want the ball to hit you because he’s hitting it so hard.
‘It hurts! He takes a few every now and then and seems to find the side net every time, and with the strength. It’s unbelievable. ‘
