A man has been charged with manslaughter after a teenager was killed on a dirt bike in Logan, south of Brisbane.
Police allege a black Toyota Hilux was driving dangerously on Bourke Street in Waterford West around 8pm on Saturday when it hit a white dirt bike.
The driver, a 21-year-old Thornlands man, was apprehended without incident.
The 17-year-old rider died at the scene of his injuries and a 19-year-old pillion passenger suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital, where he remains.
Investigators will further claim that the driver fled the crime scene in the vehicle without helping the couple.
PolAir followed the utility, reportedly driving to Cairns Street, Loganholme, where the driver, a 21-year-old Thornlands man, was taken into custody without incident.
He was charged overnight with manslaughter, grievous bodily harm and failure to stay on scene.
He was not granted bail by police and will appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.
Witnesses, especially those with dashcam or CCTV footage from the area, including Loganholme near Cairns Street, are urged to contact police.
