You might be able to lead a horse to the water, but as this Aussie discovered, there’s no chance of leading a water dragon out.
The man from Coffs Harbour, in northern New South Wales, filmed the moment he pulled a large water dragon out of its pool – only for the lizard to jump straight back into the water.
Footage shows how he bravely picked up the dragon by the tail after it got stuck in the filter box of his pool.
The water dragon had other ideas and managed to wriggle free before diving back into the pool and swimming away.

‘Do not you dare!’ you hear the man say to the lizard as he brutally escaped his grasp.
The video has been viewed more than 290,000 times on TikTok, with many reporting that they also unexpectedly stopped water dragons near their homes.
“Let me guess another day in Australia?” a comment.
“I have two as pets and they are certainly not the smartest lizards,” said another.
The eastern water dragon is found around the east coast of Australia and is the largest dragon lizard in the country.
Adult water dragons have a painful bite and have extremely sharp claws, but are known for being friendly towards humans.
They often dive into the water to escape a threat and can stay submerged for up to an hour.
