A man has been arrested outside Prince Charles’ residence in London while holding a crossbow, 14 bolts and a large knife.

Andrew Marshall, 44, from Nottingham, was searched by the police as he walked through the mall around St James’s Palace at night.

Officers used a set of keys in his possession to gain access to a vehicle in the palace parking lot.

There they found a crossbow, 14 bolts and a large knife, as well as a pair of latex gloves, according to The sun.

The 44-year-old, who is believed to have mental health problems, was arrested and charged with two gun possession counts in a public place.

Marshall has yet to plead and was released yesterday on March 19 by Westminster JP’s on bail provided he stays in the hospital until that date.

Last night a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said he was unaware of whether a man had been accused of possessing assault weapons outside a royal palace or not and could not find out “at this time of the night.”

He said he could see some information about someone being arrested, but because The Sun had reported that the man had been charged, he could not provide that information.
