Mia Freedman is set to demolish her $13 million luxury Sydney home in an extravagant $4 million redevelopment project.

The co-founder of media company Mamamia, 52, and her husband Jason Lavigne first bought the Point Piper home overlooking Sydney Harbor in 2020.

Just four years later, the couple has submitted plans to transform the five-bedroom house into a new home, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The rebuild is said to have an estimated construction cost of $3.9 million and will be designed by Roth Architecture Workshop.

Mia and her husband Jason bought the sprawling 1910 home in the luxurious beachfront suburb for $12.75 million, after it last sold for just $6.1 million in 2013.

The luxury home features five bedrooms and four bathrooms and features luxurious amenities including a “Party Sized” cabana, a modern wet edge pool and a sauna.

The non-waterfront property has a prime location close to the Royal Motor Yacht Club with picturesque views of Sydney Harbour.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Mia for comment.

The purchase came after a court ruled that Mia and Jason no longer had the right to live in the Bellevue Hill home they had moved into five years earlier with their three children.

They had attempted to buy the rented home in 2019, but the landlord withdrew from the contract after a dispute over a leaking roof, prompting the family to move out.

The family had a long connection to Bellevue Hill, having previously owned a $4.8 million home in the same area.

Mia is best known as the editorial director of Mamamia, which describes itself as the country’s largest women’s digital media network.

She is also known for hosting the Mamamia Out Loud podcast with Holly Wainwright and Jessie Stephens.
