A male Disneyland employee dressed as a “fairy godmother’s apprentice” has sparked outrage and led to calls for a boycott of the entertainment station.

Footage of the worker, who has a mustache, wearing a blue and purple dress as he greets a young girl at the Bibbidi Bobbidi store in Anaheim, California has gone viral.

It was posted by Kournti Farber, a mother of three, who documented her family’s trip to Disneyland and praised the workers for giving her daughter an unforgettable experience.

But critics slammed Disney for allowing a man to wear a costume dress and called it “inappropriate”.

The company has made efforts to be more inclusive and progressive in recent years – but it’s upset some fans who think it’s gone too far with woke changes.

The viral clip shows the Disney employee dressed as an “apprentice fairy godmother” and wearing matching eyeshadow.

“So my name is Nick, I’m one of the Fairy Godmother’s apprentices,” he said as he welcomed a little girl into the store.

‘I’m here to shop you around and make all your selections for the day.’

It has been viewed more than 7.6 million times since it was posted on May 26 and has garnered a huge backlash.

Conservative writer Peachy Keenan said, “A man in drag is not only bizarre and inappropriate, but takes guests out of the ‘show’ – the illusion is shattered.”

“Nothing matters, but the agenda and your 4-year-old is a pawn they’re happy to distract.”

While Dave Rubin, who hosts the ‘Rubin Report’, wrote: ‘This guy will be hired by Biden to run the nuclear program by the end of the day…

‘It’s a guy with a mustache in a dress. Not a “trans” person. Think how many real girls want that job at Disney and they gave it to her for a reason.

Critics slammed Disney for allowing a man to wear a costume dress, calling it “inappropriate”, while others called for a boycott of the company.

And Brandon Morse, editor of the conservative political blog Red State, added: “My God, you never suffer the same destruction of your legacy that poor Walt did.”

Others called for a boycott of Disney with Blaze TV host Sara Gonzales telling her followers, “Stop taking your family to Disney.”

Another user said, “I’m already boycotting Disney, everyone else should too.”

Cast members who worked at Disney’s Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique were previously referred to as “Fairy Godmothers-in-Training”.

But the company ditched that in favor of “Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices” last summer in a bid to be more inclusive for those who don’t identify as women.

At the time, Disney said, “This way, cast members who might not identify as female can still be part of the process of dressing and styling the kids without having to identify themselves as a Disney female character.”

Children ages 3 to 12 visit the boutique to get “magically makeovers for royalty in training.”
