A young Australian who suffered critical brain injuries after a horrific motorcycle accident in Bali has returned to Australian soil.
Dylan suffered “extensive and life-threatening injuries” in the Oct. 29 crash and spent more than a week on life support in a Balinese hospital.
On Monday, his family confirmed he had been safely repatriated to Australia.
“The flight went smoothly and the teams in Denpasar and Australia were truly exceptional in getting him home,” said his father Steven Brown.
“While it is wonderful to be back, we are forever grateful to the staff in Denpasar who, without a doubt, saved Dylan’s life.
“He is now being evaluated to receive the best possible care, he feels comfortable and, although he remains in critical condition, he is doing well.”
Dylan underwent surgery in Denpasar to remove a large blood clot that was putting pressure on his brain and which was estimated to cost more than $40,000.
TO GoFundMe The campaign has raised $136,000 and an anonymous donor contributed $40,000 to cover Dylan’s current hospital bills.
