Accused cop killer Beau Lamarre-Condon is set to plead guilty to an alleged double murder, a court has been told.
Lawyers representing Lamarre-Condon, 29, appeared at Sydney’s Downing Center Local Court on Tuesday, and the court hearing indicated guilty pleas were imminent.
Lamarre-Condon has been charged with the murders of Channel 10 presenter Jesse Baird and her boyfriend, Qantas flight attendant Luke Davies, at a shared house in Paddington in February.
The bodies of Baird and Davies were found inside surfboard bags buried on a remote property near Goulburn in the state’s Southern Tablelands after a week-long search.
Police allege Lamarre-Condon killed the couple with a police firearm.
Police also allege that the murders followed “predatory” behavior by Lamarre-Condon, who had had a brief relationship with Baird in the months before the murders.
He faces two counts of domestic violence-related murder and one count of home invasion.
Lamarre-Condon was not summoned to court Tuesday, as his attorney John Walford told the court his legal team had held a conference about the case with prosecutors.

Walford said he was in the “last throes” of finalizing instructions for a guilty plea.
The court was told the matter would be resolved when Lamarre-Condon appeared in court in November.
When asked by magistrate Theo Tsavdaridis if he would be committed for trial or sentencing, Walford simply said it would be for “processing” and gave no further details.
Following his arrest, Lamarre-Condon provided information to police that led to the discovery of the couple’s bodies.
He has since been dismissed from the New South Wales Police.
Lamarre-Condon will return to court on November 5.
