A range of Tesco Finest mince pies have been withdrawn from sale after tests found the Christmas treats were laced with fragments of dried glue.
A recall notice issued by the supermarket giant said packets of Tesco Finest 6 All Butter Pastry Mince Pies (pack of 6) with specific date codes had been recalled.
The warning adds that there is the “possible presence of small pieces of dried glue from the packaging” in the cakes.
The affected packages are those with four expiration dates: 10/4, 10/26, 11/02 and 11/10 of this year.
Tesco advises customers who bought the meat pies in question not to eat them and instead return them to the store, where they will receive a refund.
It comes days after weight loss brand Slim World issued a major recall on several of its products over fears they were contaminated with peanuts.
Around 1 in 50 children and 1 in 200 adults in the UK suffer from peanut allergies, which can be fatal if patients come into contact with the allergen.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA), Food Standards Scotland (FSS) and the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) have been working to remove the affected items from shelves.
Tesco has advised anyone who bought the cakes to return them to the store for a full refund.
The complete list of recalled items is as follows:
World Slimming Burger Pasta – All Date Codes up to and including BB: 01/05/25

It comes after food company FGS Ingredients Limited, which supplies several major food brands, recalled all products they supply to food retailers or manufacturers that contain mustard as it contains spice products including curry powder and Indian spice mixes.
