Shirley Tua said she still can't believe her husband Mika, 29, is gone after he died at work Tuesday afternoon.

The grieving widow recalled the heartbreaking moment she learned her husband had died in a terrible workplace accident.

Tree surgeon Mika Tua, 29, was electrocuted after his tools struck a power line in the Perth suburb of Maida Vale on Tuesday.

Six ambulances were called to the scene but were unable to revive the father of three.

All his wife Shirley can think about is the last time she saw her husband and she still “can’t believe he’s gone.”

“I usually always get up and make him some tea and say ‘honey, please be careful’, and yesterday was the first time I didn’t say that and now he’s gone,” she said. He told 9News.

Her daughter was with her when they heard the heartbreaking news.

“My daughter, as we were all crying, was covering her ears… it was a very sad feeling; I really can’t believe she’s gone,” Ms Tua said.

‘Cherish your loved ones, kiss them and tell them to be safe so they can return home to their loved ones whenever they leave.’

Mr. Tua is remembered as a loving father who loved sports and had a big laugh.

His brother revealed the pair had been planning a holiday together before his death as he recalled their touching final conversation.

“He called me and said, ‘I love your brother, you will be in my heart forever,'” she said.

The Department of Energy, Mines, Industrial Regulation and Safety and WorkSafe have launched separate investigations into the tragedy.

It was the second workplace tragedy in Perth in a matter of hours.

Earlier in the day, a 57-year-old man died outside a home in Donnybrook after collapsing while collecting a rubbish bin.

A member of the public called triple-0, but emergency services were unable to revive him.

A police spokesman said the death was “tragic” and that the man had been there to collect a rubbish bin.

WorkSafe has expressed its “deepest condolences to the families, friends and co-workers of the two men who died on Tuesday.”
