In a devastating discovery, the body of 18-year-old Mai Sai Vue was found by California police divers on November 28.

Divers have found the dead body of a teenage girl who disappeared on Halloween night.

Mai Sai Vue, 18, was last seen on Oct. 31 around 11 p.m. in the Civic Center area near Grove and Larkin streets in San Francisco, sparking a massive search over the past four weeks.

Her family confirmed on Wednesday that Mai Sai’s body was recovered by divers on November 28. The autopsy results have yet to be released.

Katelynn Vue, Mai Sai’s sister, shared a Facebook post acknowledging her sister’s death.

“It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that my sister, Mai Sai, has been found,” she wrote.

“Although it is not the outcome we wanted, we are still grateful that she has been found.”

Mai Sai was last seen wearing a pirate costume consisting of a white dress, black leggings and black heels – apparently in celebration of the holiday before abruptly disappearing.

Her family began frantically searching for her near the Golden Gate Bridge early last month, believing she was somewhere in the area before she disappeared.

Dozens of photos have also been shared by the family on social media in recent weeks, calling on the community to help find their loved one as time is of the essence in missing person cases.

Katelynn regularly posted about her missing sister on Facebook, along with the hashtag “letsfindmaisai,” which quickly began circulating online, leading to increased awareness and more people joining the search.

In a heartbreaking post last month, Katelynn shared a poignant image of a group of people praying for her sister’s return as they sat on a patio overlooking a body of water.

Katelynn described the close relationship she had with her sister in a heartbreaking GoFundMe update after the devastating discovery.

‘Mai Sai was a very intelligent and sweet person who had so much patience. As my only sister, she was my rock and the only person I could count on,” she wrote.

“Without my little sister, I am lost, broken and unable to focus on the fact that I will no longer have someone to lean on or call my sister,” she added.

‘A short but sweet life together is never enough.’

The GoFundMe page is now being used to raise money for Mai’s funeral costs, as the family now makes arrangements to say a dignified farewell.

“I still can’t believe I have to ask for everyone’s support and favor in donations for her funeral expenses as she is my only sister I had hoped to grow old with,” Katelynn wrote on the fundraising page.

“I am at a loss for words and I hope that with your support I can send my sister away well.”

Katelynn also thanked the community for their continued support in helping the family during this horrific time.

“On behalf of the Vue family, we really appreciate everyone coming out to help us search for her and spread awareness,” she added.

“Although it wasn’t the news we had hoped for, we are still grateful that we found her and sent her away safely.”
