A magnitude 4.5 earthquake was recorded northeast of Broken Hill in New South Wales.

The earthquake was detected at a depth of 10 kilometers at 2:50 p.m. local time on Saturday.

Broken Hill is an inland mining town near the border of New South Wales and South Australia with a population of approximately 17,000 people.
