Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal is said to be under investigation for battery over allegations he removed the hat from a disgruntled punter’s head during a confrontation.
TMZ It’s reported that Bill was approached by a group of men after Magician’s March 21 loss to Magic at the Amway Center in Orlando. One member of the group allegedly shouted “You ***** me (of) $1,300, you ***,” at Bell, according to a police report obtained by TMZ.
Bell reportedly confronted the fan, calling him “disrespectful” as he appeared to knock a hat on a man’s head as the two sides continued to jaw each other.
“Keep it well,” Bell said, according to TMZ. I don’t give a damn about any of your bets or offers, brother. This is not the reason I play the game.
Bell was then ushered into the locker room without further incident, but is reportedly being investigated by the Orlando Police Department (OPD) for battery.
Bell is reportedly being investigated over allegations that he headbutted a gambler
Spokespersons for OPD, Wizards and Magic did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for more information.
The game was bad for Bell, a 29-year-old who’s averaged 23.2 points per game for the season. The former Florida star finished with just 16 points on 4-of-15 shooting as the Wizards were outscored by 10 points in 31 minutes of play.
The game was tight heading into the fourth quarter, but Orlando pulled away with a 35-24 lead going into the final 12 minutes of action.
Bell has never been charged with any crime.
He’s also never been in trouble with the law, outside of being cited for tinting his car windows in 2014. Bell pleaded guilty in the case, according to research from LexisNexis.
Bell is currently in the first year of a five-year, $251 million deal he signed before the season.
