Comedian Magda Szubanski called for vilification rules for “fat people” in a controversial tweet sent on Sunday.

The former Kath & Kim star was criticized by her followers on Twitter, only for her to double down on the comments.

“It’s interesting to me that you’re banned from attacking almost every identity on Twitter, except being fat. Why are we not protected against vilification?’ she pondered.

Despite receiving a lot of support from fans, the controversial tweet received more personal attacks.

Magda was only too happy to criticize the backlash accusing online users of saying they are taking out their ‘toxic self-loathing’ on her as they believe she ‘wouldn’t fight back’.

“It’s pretty clear from the response to my tweet that some people hate fat people because their own hearts are so full of hate that they need to pour all their toxic self-hatred on someone they think won’t fight back.”
