Married At First Sight’s Andrea Thompson has opened up about losing 13kg due to her struggle with “anxiety” since her time on the reality show.
The professional photographer, 51, rose to fame on the 2024 series of the Channel Nine dating experiment, where she ‘married’ her love interest Richard Sauerman.
Although they initially seemed to be the perfect couple, they began to clash and struggled to see eye to eye during fights, leading to their eventual breakup.
Now, Andrea has opened up about the toll appearing on the show took on her and admitted she has struggled with “anxiety” since filming the show.
On Friday, she took to her Instagram Stories to host a fan Q&A, where she was asked about her weight loss and body transformation.

When asked about her “secret” to losing weight, Andrea said she had lost 30 pounds since her on-screen wedding, but admitted much of it was down to anxiety and stress.
She explained: ‘I’ve lost around 13kg since the wedding. Unfortunately, a lot of that was anxiety, but I’ve been doing fitness classes for a year and a half.
Andrea’s friend also recently opened up about the star’s workout regimen, as well as the anxiety she was feeling about the show airing.
“Andrea has been going to the gym for over a year, she lost 5kg while appearing on the show and the rest could be attributed to anxiety over the show airing,” a source recently told Daily Mail Australia.
Elsewhere in the Q&A, Andrea once again shut down speculation that she is dating her co-star Timothy Smith.

Timothy was paired with Lucinda Light in the eleventh series of MAFS, but they decided to simply be friends on the show and remain close to this day.
Timothy has also been seen spending time with Andrea in recent weeks and she even stayed at his house, leaving fans convinced that they were dating.
However, both Timothy and Andrea shut down the rumors and insisted that they are just good friends.
During the Q&A session, Andrea was again attacked by questions about her relationship with Timothy and shared a video insisting that they will never “be intimate.”
Elsewhere in the Q&A, Andrea also once again put to rest speculation that she is dating co-star Timothy Smith after spending time together in recent weeks.
She said, ‘Man, I’ve never had so many questions about something that Tim and I and people don’t think we’re friends.’
‘Tim reminds me of my brother. From the first moment I met him, he is exactly like my brother, so I understood and understood him.
‘I have to tell you that I don’t want to be intimate with someone who reminds me of my brother! So Tim and I won’t be intimate, we won’t kiss on the lips.
“He’s one of my best friends and he’s gotten me through some pretty tough times recently and I love him, but I don’t love him.”
Andrea (pictured with Timothy) firmly put an end to fan speculation as she insisted they will never be “intimate” and said the reality TV star reminds her of her brother.
Timothy previously addressed romance rumors after Andrea stayed over at his house, insisting they slept in different rooms.
‘Andrea came and visited me. He actually went to see Lucinda and she stayed at my house,” he explained.
‘She and her daughter stayed in my room, I crashed on the couch. “Andie has a big heart and soul.”
Andrea previously said the “best part of the experiment” for her was the lifelong friends she made with some of the cast, including Timothy’s ex Lucinda.
