Married-at-first-sight couple Tahnee Cook and Ollie Skelton didn’t have to stray far from their family tree to find love.
Reports surfaced early in the series that Tahnee and Ollie’s TV wedding took a bizarre turn when they learned they were distantly related.
The reveal never aired, but Tahnee has now confirmed that the rumors are true and that she has no regrets marrying into her family.
‘At the wedding, obviously, the two families were separated. Ollie’s mom looked over and saw my sister’s fiancé Jasper and she said, ‘I know you! Your dad is my cousin!’ said the 27-year-old. yahoo lifestyle.
‘And then he started freaking out saying, ‘What if the girlfriend is Jasper’s sister?’ Because then we would literally be related to blood.

Fortunately, the couple is only related by marriage. Ollie, 26, is a second cousin of Tahnee’s brother-in-law, Jasper, who is not related to Tahnee by blood.
However, if Tahnee’s sister decides to have children with Jasper, her child will be related to both Tahnee and Ollie.
While some people may have turned off the idea of marrying a distant relative, Tahnee considers their unlikely connection a “good omen.”

“I saw it as a big sign because I love Jasper. He’s amazing and I have a great relationship with him, so I thought, if Ollie’s family is anything like Jasper’s family, we’re sweet,” she enthused.
The couple hit it off immediately after exchanging vows, before flying to Fiji and consummating their marriage on the first night of their honeymoon.
Tahnee and Ollie are the youngest couple to appear on Married At First Sight.
The couple has been going from strength to strength in the months since filming wrapped, recently moving in together.
Married At First Sight continues Wednesday night at 7:30pm on Channel Nine.
