Married At First Sight star Ella Morgan made a bold claim about herself in the first episode of the new series of Celebs Go Dating.
The 29-year-old reality star described herself as a “television icon” in her introduction to Monday’s episode of the Channel 4 dating show.
Ella, the first transgender celebrity to appear on the show, said: “My name is Ella Morgan. I’m a trans TV icon. I was born Evan, I always knew I was a girl. I’m the Princess Diana of the queer community.”
But viewers were left baffled by the comment, as they declared she had “only been on one show”.
However, not all fans disagreed with Ella over her “icon” status, as others rallied to support the star.

The 29-year-old reality star described herself as a “television icon” in her introduction for Monday’s episode of the Channel 4 dating show.
Viewers wrote on X, formerly Twitter, while the show was airing: “TV icon? You’ve been on a show and you’re not a celebrity.”
“She has a high opinion of herself considering she spent weeks chasing possibly the dumbest guy I’ve ever seen on television not too long ago.”
“I’m a trans TV icon. Who’s going to tell him that?”; “Did he just say he’s a TV icon!?”
But Ella’s fans came to her defence, saying: “God I love #CelebsGoDating! My real guilty pleasure. Tristan and Chris are so handsome and it’s great to see Trans #MAFS Icon Ella back on telly!”
“I love Ella so much. She was one of my favourites on MAFSUK.”
Celebs Go Dating returned to screens on Monday night with a new cast of stars keen to find their soul mate.
But things weren’t so easy for Helen Flanagan, as she accidentally flirted with a gay man and called herself a “psychopathic bitch” in front of a potential date.
The series began with a Bridgeton-inspired masquerade ball as celebrities walked around the room.

Actress Helen, 34, was joined by Jamelia, Gogglebox’s Stephen Webb, MAFS UK’s Ella, Love Island’s Chris Taylor, MIC star Tristan Phipps and Lauryn Goodman.
She has had a hard time re-entering the dating world after splitting from her ex Scott Sinclair, who is the father of her three children.
While mingling with the singles, things got off to a bad start because the masks “made her lose the gay radar” and she was constantly oversharing.
After chatting with the gay man, Helen laughed off her mishap and headed off to another single guy, although that didn’t go as planned either.
After jumping straight into the conversation and talking about her ex, she added: “I can be sweet. Depending on the time of the month, I’m either charming or a psychopath.”
“Well, I hope it’s not that time now…” the masked stranger joked awkwardly.
Moving on to another, she then blurted out: “It’s really really hot, isn’t it? I feel like my boobs are sweaty!”
Commenting on Helen’s conversations, experts assessed: “Oh no, here she goes again. Do you think this is her way of diverting the topic?”
According to The Sun, there will be a shocking offence that could lead to dismissal, a “missing” star and plenty of tears as celebrities pour out their souls to dating experts.

“Could he be trying to make them laugh… or is this his way of saying they don’t stand a chance?” they questioned.
At the end of the meeting, Helen decided to go on a date with sports masseur Luke after their “flirty chat and smooth conversation.”
Fortunately, it seems that he was not intimidated by the soap opera star’s excessive comments and agreed to go on a date with her.
However, in a shocking twist, it was later revealed that Ella had also chosen Luke, meaning he would be forced to decide between the girls.
