MAFS boyfriend Jono McCullough was seen contritely holding a bouquet of flowers the morning after failing to cover his wife’s back during a dinner date.
Photos taken by Daily Mail Australia on September 6 show Jono, 39, sporting a nervous smile as he returned to Skye Suites after stopping by a nearby florist to pick up a bouquet of colorful flowers for Lauren Dunn.
During Wednesday’s explosive episode, Jack Dunkley attempted to silence Lauren, 32, by telling Jono to “gag his wife” after an argument turned dirty.
“Lauren was deeply hurt and Jono let her down after he promised to have her back for dinner but didn’t,” a source told Daily Mail Australia.
“Although Jono responded to Jack when he made the disgusting comment, Lauren was upset that he didn’t back her up with more attacks she was making against Jack.”
According to sources on set, Jono was removed from the dinner shortly after the heated confrontation with Jack Dunkley and Lauren for “being too drunk.”
MAFS boyfriend Jono McCullough was pictured looking contrite with apology flowers the morning after failing to support his wife at dinner on Wednesday.
During the episode, Jack Dunkley tries to silence Lauren Dunn (pictured) by telling Jono to put a “muzzle on his wife” after an argument turns dirty.
“Jono drank too much and was quickly taken out of dinner around 10pm and sent to Skye Suites in an Uber,” the source said.
‘The producers were angry, but they got what they needed and sent it home.
“It got to the point where he couldn’t speak properly and it would have looked very silly on camera to keep him there.”

Channel Nine aired some of McCullough’s pieces on camera, filmed earlier in the evening, towards the end of the episode to make it look like he had been there the whole time.
The heated confrontation at dinner was sparked by Dunn’s determination to question Dunkley about their relationship.
The situation quickly deteriorated when Jack not only retaliated against Lauren’s accusations, but also resorted to personal attacks, commenting on her Botox use.
Dunkley’s attempt to silence Dunn by saying “muzzle your wife” was condemned by Jono, who said Jack’s comments “crossed the line” and “went too far”, but did nothing further to defend her, which bothers Lauren.
