Layton expressed his fear that their differences could bring out the worst in each other, but ultimately decided that he was willing to take the risk to be with Melinda.

While Evelyn and Melinda made it to the end of the experiment with their husbands, Janelle left quite early after her husband, Adam Seed, “cheated” on her with another girlfriend.

“At times our relationship has been stressful, overwhelming and difficult. And for my part in that, I want to apologize.
I realized that there were times when you needed me and I wasn’t there to support you. There were times when you didn’t feel safe and I couldn’t make you feel safe.
He continued: “There were times when you felt alone and I didn’t do enough to make you feel like I was there for you.”

Melinda later admitted that she didn’t initially think Layton was her perfect match, but he soon became someone incredibly special to her.
