MAFS suffers another editing error when a digital clock next to Rupert reveals a little-known secret about the pledging ceremonies
Eagle-eyed Married At First Sight viewers noticed a subtle editing error during last Sunday’s episode.
An observant fan posted a screenshot of the scene in question on the MAFS AU subreddit along with an explanation of the error.
The scene showed Rupert Bugden getting ready for the commitment ceremony, which producers would like viewers to believe is filmed over the course of an evening.
But the digital clock next to Rupert’s bed showed it was 9:45 a.m., proving that filming actually starts in the morning.
“This was Rupert getting ready for last week’s pledge ceremony. Mind the time,” the MAFS viewer captioned the screenshot.

Another Reddit user confirmed that the pledging ceremonies and dinners are filmed over an entire day, but edited to appear to only take place at night.
My co-worker was on this show a few seasons ago and he said that for dinners in particular, they are there at 11 a.m. and drinking until 7 p.m., and then they serve dinner,” they wrote.
“He said you’d sit there for hours and a new couple would come every hour. They’d really like to get you as drunk as possible.’
Another fan chimed in, “Past contestants have said they arrive around noon and film until about 3am for the dinner parties.”

It comes after an episode of MAFS last month featured yet another editing error.
At Tayla Winter and Hugo Armstrong’s wedding, fans noticed that the guest walking the bride down the aisle was wearing an earpiece in his left ear.
While the device was hidden, it became visible when he turned his head to the side as he walked Tayla to her groom.
Reality stars often wear earpieces while filming so they can receive instructions from producers.

MAFS fans previously saw another detail that indicated the show may be scripted.
Viewers noticed that at the dinner party two weeks ago, Harrison Boon grabbed the collar of his shirt and spoke to producers through his lapel microphone.
A slow-motion video of the moment was shared by the MAFS fan account @mafs.bachie.reality.
“Harrison talks into his mike. He’s probably saying, ‘Get the fuck out of here,'” the caption read.
Former MAFS contestant Jackson Lonie, who appeared in season nine, said it was more likely that Harrison simply told the producers he needed the bathroom.
