“When we first started talking about this project, I was single, but I’m clearly very much in love now, so it feels funny to play a bachelor,” he told Daily Mail Australia.

“I love acting and this piece is really just a bit of irony,” he added.

Kerry laughed at her boyfriend’s unexpected role, saying she couldn’t wait to see him try to straighten his face as he played a singleton onstage.

“It’s just a play,” the 31-year-old laughed. “I’m super proud of Johnny because he worked really hard on the piece and I know acting is his passion.”

And while Johnny was busy rehearsing his play, Kerry said she’s also back working full-time as an occupational therapist.

But she has put things on hold for the time being due to Covid restrictions.

“I have the same limitations as everyone else in the country, but I spend my time at home wisely. I work with Kate Ivey Fitness [an online workout program] to stay physically and mentally healthy,” she said.

Kerry and Johnny met on this year’s season of MAFS and turned out to be one of the most popular and least problematic couples on the show.

After deciding to stay together during the final engagement ceremony, their relationship has grown stronger.

In June, they announced that they were moving in together.
