MAFS Australia: Bryce and Melissa on the tough reality of raising twins

MAFS stars Bryce Ruthven and Melissa Rawson reveal the harsh reality of raising twins: ‘Both are sick, both are teething and both are cranky’

Married At First Sight stars Bryce Ruthven and Melissa Rawson have admitted that raising identical twins is far from easy.

While parenting is often portrayed as fun and effortless on social media, Bryce and Melissa say the reality is very different, especially when two babies are involved.

Bryce, 31, shared a photo to Instagram on Tuesday of one of the babies crying, saying in the caption that they were acting “grumpy” because of teething.

“This is the reality… The twins went to the doctor this morning. They are both sick, both teething and are both a bit grumpy because of it,” he wrote.

‘I could have posted a happy baby’ [photo] to show they are cherubs as they usually are, but instead I’m showing the reality of having sick babies.”

Bryce concluded: ‘For anyone who only likes to post positive/loving videos of their babies, in which they are happy 24/7.’

Bryce and Melissa welcomed twin sons Levi and Tate last October, 10 weeks early.

The babies were later hospitalized with breathing problems, which Melissa, 32, said was likely RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) or bronchiolitis.

The couple met on Married At First Sight last year, but their appearance on the Channel Nine show was marred by controversy.

Some viewers accused Bryce of “manipulating” and “gaslighting” Melissa on the show.

The pair denied this was the case and told fans not to be fooled by reality TV editing.

Bryce said: ‘We knew the truth from day one, but unfortunately the country was being fooled. They must have a bad guy and for some reason I got picked.”
