More than half the cast of Married At First Sight were outraged after it was announced that Domenica Calarco would be hosting her own spin-off series.

A source told the publication that Dom was “not being paid” for working on the show and that the network was “not offering her any money.”

“Channel Nine presented it as a great opportunity that could potentially lead to more TV work within the network,” they claimed.

“They believe they have made Domenica the big star that she is, so they don’t have to pay her. It’s an honor to be chosen to do it, and great exposure for her.”

The insider claimed that Dom agreed to do the show for free “because she wanted the prestige that came with it.”

They added that Martha Kalifatidis, who hosted her own online web series titled “Martha’s Red Wine Moments” in 2021, was reportedly paid $5,000 and that she was doing it for similar reasons.

“Channel Nine knew that if Dom said no, someone else would take the opportunity,” the source added.

The web show has encountered resistance from some cast members who accused the network of favoritism towards Dom.

Domenica’s Debrief was briefly the splash story on the Nine.com.au website, but was quickly cut short, presumably due to low traffic.
