Tony, 53, from Wollongong, works as a council employee and is described by his family as a “humble guy” who has had no luck with women.
Friends and family are hoping this experience will finally bring him the love he deserves.
“Tony is a fun and genuine guy,” a friend told Daily Mail Australia.
“He loves fishing and the gym, and his dog Teddy is his life,” they added.
However, Tony’s friend is worried about how he will handle the show.
“Tony doesn’t like conflict, so I’m not sure how he’ll handle dinners when things get heated,” they said.
