A new Married at First Sight 2025 teaser promises fans they can expect plenty of cringe-worthy drama this season.

The short clip, starring bride Jacqui Burfort, 29, reveals a wedding ‘failure’ of epic proportions that brings the New Zealand-born businessman to tears.

The trailer begins with the narrator asking if any ‘man on earth’ can match the triumphant Jacqui.

Known as an entrepreneur, Jacqui is heard in the trailer listing her impressive achievements, which include being crowned Miss New Zealand.

He boasts of having read 2,000 books, having run a marathon and having a double degree and first class honors in law.

Jacqui is also a yoga instructor and certified dancer.

“It’s impossible to find someone on my level,” she says in the trailer, adding, “I’m too ambitious, too difficult to handle.”

Looking stunning in a blue wedding dress for the ceremony, Jacqui’s after-party is also previewed.

And this is where things go wrong, when her MAFS boyfriend, Ryan Donnelly, takes her in his arms for a romantic waltz… and after attempting a very dip dance, drops her to the floor.

The trailer ends with a distraught Jacqui crying.

It comes after Daily Mail Australia revealed earlier this month that Jacqui and Ryan will become the most polarizing couple in the show’s history, eclipsing even the infamous Brontë and Harrison saga in 2023.

Sources close to the production have revealed that Jacqui, a self-proclaimed businesswoman who “tells it like it is”, and Ryan, 37, an outspoken project manager, are “absolute bananas” both on and off screen.

Fans hoping for another run-of-the-mill love story should prepare for fireworks, backstabbing, and the kind of mayhem that will make past seasons look like a Disney fairy tale.

“Ryan is all about masculinity – he champions men who embrace their strength and individuality – but let’s be honest, viewers will be equally captivated by his striking good looks,” a source said.

Meanwhile, Jacqui will steal the show in her own way. She is absolutely fierce and women around the world will feel empowered watching her stand up for what is right. They are a dynamic duo and the audience won’t be able to look away.’

An informed source revealed: “Their journey on the show will make Brontë and Harrison look like a happily ever after romance.”

At every dinner, at every commitment ceremony, they either attack each other or drag the rest of the group into their mess.

It’s not just his on-screen antics that have people talking.

Another insider revealed: ‘They both have this unpredictable energy. It’s hard to know who is worse.

One moment Jacqui is tearing Ryan apart over something insignificant, the next she’s on the couch crying and everyone is falling for her crocodile tears. It’s crazy: you won’t know whether to laugh, cry or turn off the television.’

The couple’s incessant drama has not only affected their own relationship, but has also driven a wedge in the group.

According to inside sources, the other couples either avoid them completely or get caught up in their disputes.

‘Their toxic chemistry divides the group. “It’s exhausting for everyone involved,” a source added.

‘They argue as if it were a sport and the rest of the cast has to suffer it. But you can’t look away: it’s disaster television at its finest.’

Even the show’s experts, who are no strangers to volatile couples, were reportedly surprised by Jacqui and Ryan’s intensity.

A source hinted: “It’s clear they were paired together to generate drama, but I don’t think anyone expected this level of chaos.”

“Experts are often left speechless, which is saying something.”

Married At First Sight returns to Channel Nine after the Australian Open. Stream seasons 1-11 on 9Now.
