Madonna and Sam Smith have teamed up to create a provocative new pop song with crude and sexually aggressive lyrics, aptly titled Vulgar.
The Queen of Pop, 64, and singer Unholy, 31 – who is non-binary and uses neutral pronouns – teamed up to release the new boundary-pushing song on Friday.
Rather than singing, Madonna primarily uses the spoken word on the track, saying, “Boy, get down on your knees ’cause I’m Madonna / If you fuck with Sam tonight, you fuck with me / So watch what you say or I’ll split your banana.
Then there are the following lyrics reminiscent of Taylor Swift’s Karma: “Vulgar is beautiful, dirty, and wonderful/ Vulgar will make you dance, don’t need a chorus/ Say we’re ridiculous, we’ll just go proud / Crazy and meticulous, Sam and Madonna.
Other lyrics read, “Looks like I’m dressed to kill, I like how I make myself feel / All black in stripper heels, move like Madonna / Rich like I’m in the Louvre, there’s nothing left to prove / You know yourself “You’re beautiful when they call you vulgar / I do what I want, I go when I have to / I’m sexy and I feel… Vulgar.”

On Friday, Sam wrote on Instagram: ‘VULGAR is a very special song for me.
“I, the QUEEN, and a group of some of the most talented people I know, walked into the studio the day after the Grammys and created this piece of music.
“The creativity was pure and the energy was alive. I can’t wait to share this with you sailors!! THE VULGAR IS BEAUTIFUL!! Everywhere now.
“I love you @madonna,” he finished.
Smith has previously praised the collaboration.
“Vulgar is one of the most exciting songs I’ve been a part of,” Sam told Zane Lowe on New music daily on Apple Music 1.
The hitmakers hit the studio to record the new song the day after the Vogue singer – who teased a clip of the new song on June 5 – presented them with their Grammy Award.
“It was written with Madonna and an incredible group of people,” the Fire on Fire singer continued.

“The day after the Grammys, we all walked into the studio and had an amazing night creating, writing and voicing,” they added.
“And, of course, it was the biggest dream come true for me to work and perform and sing with the Queen of Pop. I’m so honored and excited about this song and hope everyone loves it as much as I do.
Sam’s alliance with Madonna appears to be a match made in heaven or hell, depending on who’s listening, as the British hitmaker has agitated some fans with religious imagery.
The highly anticipated release comes nearly four months after Sam sparked “satanic” panic with their jaw-dropping performance at the Grammys in February.
Singing alongside collaborator Kim Petras, the Grammy-winning artist donned devilish headgear in the horror-movie-inspired performance, scandalizing conservatives like Ted Cruz with their “demonic” themes.

Many viewers took to Twitter to express their frustration after Sam Smith’s controversial performance at the Grammys, with one person tweeting: “I know we on the right probably use the word satanic too often, but this Sam Smith performance is literally a tribute to Satan.”
Another added: ‘You don’t have to be super religious to be bothered by this devil worshiping performance by Sam Smith.’
“This devil worship performance was trash,” wrote a third reviewer. “And it’s been done so many times. I’m disappointed.
The backlash didn’t hold Sam back at all, as they continued to use religious imagery throughout their Gloria tour.
But the collaboration with Madonna is a much-needed bright spot for the Stay With Me hitmaker, as they were recently forced to cancel the rest of their UK shows due to vocal cord issues.
Fans were left in the dark after Sam suddenly canceled their gig at Manchester’s AO Arena after just a few songs last Wednesday.
The singer quickly released a statement, insisting they couldn’t continue after noticing “something was seriously wrong” with their vocals.

Sam has now revealed that they could suffer permanent damage to their voices if they don’t rest fully.
Rehearsals began the first week of April for Madge’s extravagant 12th concert, which marks her first greatest hits tour and the first time she hasn’t promoted a specific studio album.
The tour kicks off July 15 with a sold-out show in Vancouver, before heading south across the West Coast of the United States.
She will spend October to early December crossing Europe before returning to North America.
