The man who will make the decision on whether the main suspect in the Maddie McCann case will be released or not has delivered a bombshell verdict that could ensure he remains behind bars.

Convicted pedophile and rapist Christian Brueckner is the man who German investigators say kidnapped and killed Madeleine, then three years old, from her parents’ holiday apartment in Portugal in 2007.

He is currently on trial for a series of unrelated sexual crimes committed in Portugal and there are strong indications that he will be acquitted.

The only way German authorities could keep him in prison would be if the court’s psychiatric expert, Dr. Christian Riedemann, deemed him “dangerous” to society.

Forensic psychiatrist Dr. Riedemann, 47, director of the Bad Rehburg penitentiary, testified today before the Braunschweig Regional Court: “The application of various procedures leads to the conclusion that Christian Brueckner can be classified in the absolute dangerous category. superior”.

“Based on established testing procedures, nearly 100 percent of comparable sex offenders have a more favorable prognosis than the defendant,” he continued.

“And the probability that B. will be imprisoned in the next two years is 30 to 50 percent.”

He rejected any attempt at exploration of his personality by experts.

“I would like to ask you many questions, but I just have to speculate about many things.”

“He belongs to the absolutely top league of danger.”

“The probability that the defendant could commit more crimes while at large within two years is high.”

The defendant, Christian Brückner, who is currently serving time for a 2005 rape in Portugal, is currently accused of other horrendous sexual crimes in Portugal, including three cases of rape and two cases of exposure to children while masturbating.

If he is acquitted of these crimes, the only way to keep him in prison will be to activate something called “pretrial detention”, so he has to say that he considers Brückner dangerous to society.

Today is the second time that Dr. Riedemann has evaluated Christian Brueckner’s personality.

On the 33rd day of the trial, he also did the same, first discussing an introduction to scientific research on sadistic criminals, and arguing that their primary motivation is not sex, but power.

Here he said that sadists enjoy humiliating their victims, physically hurting them, tying them up and subduing them.
