Madeleine McCann suspects that Christian Brueckner is being investigated by the Dutch police following the disappearance of a seven-year-old boy who has disappeared from a beach in the Netherlands.
Jair Soares went missing when he went to buy chips near the city of Monster in the province of South Holland on August 4, 1995.
His parents had also left the area where they were relaxing, but when they returned to the towels, where a friend of theirs was sitting with her daughter, Jair had disappeared.
The Dutch police have prepared a file for their German colleagues to investigate whether Brueckner, 43, may have been behind the disappearance.

The possibility of a link between the two missing children, who are said to have many similarities in how they disappeared, was first raised last month and it has now been confirmed that the file has been prepared and handed over to German investigators.
A spokesman for the police in The Hague confirmed that, after announcing their intention to exchange information, they presented the case and were “in talks”.
He said, “Presenting the case means looking at whether there are any similarities between the cases. So we look for clues that link them together. ‘
When asked what this could mean, he said it was, among other things, that they would try to put Brueckner’s movements together and see if he could be identified as being in the Netherlands when the youngster disappeared.

When details of Christian Brueckner’s activities were made public, cold case detectives in the Netherlands admitted that his profile made it a priority to see if he was linked to Jair’s disappearance.
He is being held by the police in Bayreuth, near Nuremberg, where he is also being investigated for other cases of child disappearance.
The same applies to the case of Peggy Knobloch, nine, whose remains were discovered on July 2, 2016 in the Thuringian Forest in Germany. She disappeared from school on May 2, 2001.

Christian Brueckner is also a suspect in the disappearance of Inga Gehricke, five, (left) who disappeared in Germany in 2015, and Peggy Knobloch, nine, (right) whose remains were discovered on July 2, 2016 in the Thuringian Forest in Germany.
Detectives are also investigating the cases of Rene Hasee, six, who went missing while vacationing in Aljezur, Portugal – 40 kilometers from Praia da Luz, where Christian Brueckner lived at the time.
The German is also a suspect in the disappearances of Carola Titze, 16, who went missing in Belgium in 1996 and Inga Gehricke, five, who disappeared in Germany in 2015.
He has also been linked to the murder of Monika Pawlak, a 24-year-old prostitute in Hanover in 2010.
His lawyer has said he denies any involvement in Maddie’s disappearance.
